AESC awarded implementation of MCE Flex Market Program Suite

AESC and team members Resource Innovations, Demand Side Analytics, and ASK Energy have been awarded a contract to implement MCE’s Flex Market Programs for program years 2024 – 2026. The suite of meter-based programs includes MCE’s Residential and Commercial Efficiency Market programs and the Peak Flex Market program for demand response (DR) and will serve the Community Choice Aggregator’s (CCA) customers in the Bay Area counties of Contra Costa, Marin, Napa, and Solano.

MCE’s Flex Market Programs, pioneered in 2021, are aggregator-delivered, pay-for-performance programs designed to target and deliver measurable impacts at the meter through demand side interventions including energy efficiency, load flexibility, and DR event-based reductions. Aggregator incentives are correlated to grid benefits and avoided costs, encouraging peak load savings.

The AESC team will provide turnkey program implementation including program management, aggregator enrollment and management, project intake and incentive reservation, savings measurement and verification (M&V) and incentive payment.

The award builds on AESC’s extensive experience delivering turnkey meter-based program solutions, including PG&E’s Market Access Program and Strategic Energy Management programs that leverage AESC’s technical, program and advanced M&V capabilities through AESC’s Praxis platform. Based in Carlsbad, CA, AESC has been a trusted energy project and programs partner to utility, government, and private sector clients for 30 years.
