AESC to Provide Energy Efficiency Program Evaluation, Measurement and Verification Services to Sacramento Municipal Utility District
CARLSBAD, CA – September 17, 2013 — Alternative Energy Systems Consulting, Inc. (AESC), a trusted leading provider of high quality energy engineering and management services, today announced that Sacramento Municipal Utility District (SMUD) has awarded a contract to perform evaluation, measurement, and verification analysis of efficiency savings for single family residential homes.
Under this new contract, AESC will provide evaluation and energy efficiency analyses as part of SMUD’s “Single Family Home Performance Program”. AESC will coordinate services with SMUD’s staff in the measurement and evaluation of the program’s performance and grid impacts.
“We are excited to be evaluating SMUD’s Home Performance Program,” said Ron Ishii, AESC president and CEO. “I am delighted that we have been able to extend our energy efficiency expertise to SMUD’s residential community under this contract. The long-term California strategy is to establish zero net energy homes as the standard practice. Under SMUD’s leadership, this program is a step in that direction.”
SMUD’s Single Family Home Performance Program is a residential energy efficiency retrofit program with the goal of transforming the market to whole-house approaches for energy efficiency. The program assists customers in achieving comfort, safety and energy savings based on the use of building science principles, and establishes an improved business model where installation contractors address the performance of the whole house.
“AESC is committed to working with our clients to achieve their increasing energy efficiency goals, ” noted Ishii. “This contract adds to AESC’s already strong presence among utilities, local and city government. Previous expertize in energy efficiency, demand response, verification analysis, demand reduction and renewable energy underscores the Company’s commitment to delivering quality on time professional engineering services.”
