AESC and partners have successfully completed a two-year project with the California Energy Commission, investigating DER control technologies and their ability to shift residential loads through dynamic pricing strategies.
This project, known as the Smart Home Study, distributed programmable thermostats, electric vehicle charging stations, battery storage systems, and interconnection hubs to 100 homeowners in the San Diego area. Newly published results will help advance energy research and further our understanding of how smart and connected devices can improve the overall health of the grid, reduce carbon emissions, and minimize the cost of energy.
