What is the Groceries, Restaurants, and Food Storage Program?
The Groceries, Restaurants, and Food Storage Program targets grocery stores, restaurants and food storage warehouses throughout SDG&E’s service territory. The Program offers a multi-channel delivery approach tailored to address the diverse needs of the market, from the largest national chain accounts to SDG&E’s smallest, hard-to-reach (HTR) locally owned restaurants and corner stores. Savings are paid and measured either through population level normalized metered energy consumption (Pop-NMEC) or site level NMEC (Site-NMEC), and Deemed rebates are also available for sites not eligible for a measured savings approach.
Who is Eligible?
Grocery stores, restaurants, and food storage warehouses of all sizes in SDG&E’s service territory may be eligible to participate in the GRFS Program. If you are an SDG&E customer in one of the identified market sectors, contact an enrolled aggregator to learn more!
An aggregator is a participating vendor or program partner who works with customers to generate energy efficiency and/or demand savings projects. Aggregators manage interactions and relationships with the customer from project identification through customer project implementation and can check program eligibility for your business.
The Groceries, Restaurants, and Food Storage Program is funded by California utility customers under the auspices of the California Public Utilities Commission and implemented AESC under a contract awarded by San Diego Gas & Electric Company (SDG&E). Program funds are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis until such funds are no longer available. This program may be modified or terminated without prior notice. Customers who choose to participate in this program are not obligated to purchase any additional services offered by AESC or any other third party.
